Since his debut on the highly popular Star Wars live-action series The Mandalorian on Disney+, Baby Yoda aka The Child has completely taken the Internet by storm, generating a seemingly endless amount of memes as well as getting his own set of officially licensed merch just in time for the holiday season. Now, renowned toy company Funko is adding the little green alien to its own offerings.

Slated for release in May 2020, Funko’s take on Baby Yoda will come in two versions: a standard Funko Pop! size and a larger, near life-size 10-inch figure. Both models are identical, featuring the Mandalorian’s force-sensitive companion dressed in his signature robes with his little hand held out. The standard version comes with a baseplate featuring the “Star Wars” logo, whilst the 10-inch edition simply comes with a simple black stand.

Both editions of the Baby Yoda “The Child” Funko figures are now available for preorder over at Entertainment Earth, retailing for $11 USD for the standard and $35 USD for the 10-inch version. Take a closer look in the gallery above, and head over to order yours now.

I have worked for this. I worked my ass off for this next sentence. I went from selling SanQuon out of my backpack to having THREE SanQuon owned and operated distribution centers.

Germany.
Las Vegas.

Worldwide, it would have never crossed my mind in the Summer of 2003. Tokyo it would be the first to show love with billboards of SanQuon. People in New York were stealing SanQuon posters that were hanging in front of bodegas, to take home to hang in their rooms. Remember when 'Somebody' used to stick SanQuon stickers on the Marta? I keep writing and erasing, because nothing I'm writing can really capture how I truly feel at this moment. I don't know where to start; however, not starting would be much worse.

I would say more, but I'll save the rest.

In 2012, I closed My Swag Magazine. I needed to focus more on my first love (fashion). I felt the magazine wasn't making the impact I wanted it to make. It was taking time away from designing. Which was fine, but the cycle of interviewing mega-famous people, people loving it and waiting for the next interview became dispiriting. 

As fun as it felt putting together the interviews and content around it, it didn't push My Swag Magazine forward. It fell into the same traditional ways of media. I wasn't happy about it. My mind was not being stimulated, yet it was satisfying the masses, so I let it ride. 

I started doing things at V (this post not about them so no names lol), but hey, turn y'all stuff in today, thanks) and TV (y'all too) and kept pushing out content for those two mags, plus my own.

'Til I left it alone. I stopped interviewing people. Like all together. Not even for V and TV. No matter how many emails and calls I got (Still get). I didn't want to just throw things into this world of media without it touching something that meant everything to me. 

THIS IS STARTING TO BECOME TOO LONG. Let's get to the meat. 

I hate the way that blackness and black history are being covered in society. Taking the same three people and positioning them as if they represent the embodiment of blackness. MLK and Rosa Parks are only spoken of in efforts to try to silence people into peacefulness. Subliminally falsely abetting the idea that America got its freedom by doing something it truly didn't do. Textbooks only cover slavery and peanut butter. Blackness is loud, blackness is proud, blackness is real, blackness opens the doors to sides of the mind that didn't allow itself to be beaten into submission.
They wanted me back, I wanted something to say.

Black is gold.

Louis Vuitton New Single Pair Sneaker Box

 After presenting a giant sneaker trunk earlier this month, Louis Vuitton has now debuted a new sneaker box. Portable in its construction and contemporary-yet-classic in its design, each box holds a single pair of sneakers but can be stacked vertically or placed horizontally with other boxes to expand its scope.

Covered in LV’s signature Monogram Eclipse pattern, the leather box features a transparent fold-down Perspex door that shows off whatever type of footwear may be contained inside. There’s also a duo of hidden drawers, providing extra room for any shoe-related accessories. And thanks to a hidden magnetic system, the slope that the shoes sit on stays at the same angle even when the lid is lifted.

The Louis Vuitton Sneaker Box will be available in Miami alongside the aforementioned trunk starting on December 3 to coincide with Design Miami/ and Art Basel. The retail price has yet to be announced.

Last week, Louis Vuitton revealed plans for a special pop-up residency to commemorate their 2054 collection. Now, the popular luxury brand is introducing a new Sneaker Trunk.

Specifically, the Sneaker Trunk will be debuted at Miami’s forthcoming Savoir-Faire showcase on December 3. It will be able to hold at least six pairs of low-top shoes — up to size 13 — and eight pairs of high-top sneakers — up to size 12. Louis Vuitton will also offer a wide array of customization options for each consumer who is interested.

“Combining Louis Vuitton’s classic art of trunk craftmanship with contemporary design, Louis Vuitton’s Sneaker Trunk is the newest addition to the House’s iconic hard-sided collection,” reads an official description. “This one-of-a-kind Sneaker Trunk is an emblem of Louis Vuitton’s visionary spirit and heritage craftsmanship.”

'The Nightmare Before Christmas' x Vans "Christmas Town"

The Nightmare Before Christmas and Vans have teamed up for the Sk8-Hi “Christmas Town,” following up the extensive collaborative capsule that released in October. A special nod to one of the film’s most memorable moments, the “Christmas Town” features a highly-detailed design, replete with prints, patterns, and embellishments.

Both shoes nod to main character Jack Skellington’s discovery of the Holiday Doors while exploring the Holiday Woods. The left foot’s lateral side shows Jack’s wonderment with Christmas lights, while the right foot’s lateral side depicts his memorable moment with the snowman. Both of these printed details sit on top of a blue canvas base. A large Christmas tree graphic is also present on the black suede heels.

The detailing doesn’t end there. Each shoe features a red suede toebox, black suede eyestays and overlays, gold metal eyelets, and a red and black checkered print on the laces. Down below, a white midsole with red foxing and a classic vulcanized gum outsole complete the look.

Look for this The Nightmare Before Christmas x Vans Sk8-Hi to release on November 22 at Vans.com and Vans retail outposts in both men’s and toddler sizes.

Billy Goes Leopard With Vans

Japanese footwear retailer BILLY’s Tokyo has prepped another round of leopard-clad Vans exclusives. Part of the Anaheim Factory lineup, two silhoeuttes are featured — the SID DX and Style 53 DX.

The former comes with a sleek mold, with bold leopard prints covering all of the uppers. Flat white laces contrast the busy patterns, while Vans’ old circular logo has been embroidered at the sides. To match all the white highlights, the uppers sit above a crisp midsole, detailed with two black lines and Vans’ heel logo stamped at the back. The Style 53 DX sees a bulkier shape, bearing a mold close to that of a penny loafer. This iteration sees a slip-on fit, secured by a thin band that arches over the tongue. Additionally, thin white top-stitching appears throughout the uppers to match the clean midsole below. As a final note, its outsole comes fully treaded in the color brown.

The BILLY’s exclusive Vans SID DX and Style 53 DX will be available on November 23 at billys-tokyo.net for $111 and $96 USD, respectively.
