Kith Brings Snoopy’s Doghouse to Brooklyn for a Peanuts Pop-Up

Kith is stepping back into the world of Peanuts, and they’re making sure everyone—two-legged and four—gets in on the fun. To celebrate their latest collaboration, the NYC staple has planted a full-scale Snoopy’s Doghouse right in the middle of Brooklyn’s Domino Park, turning nostalgia into a real-world playground.

This isn’t just for show—this is a true hangout spot, open to the public and fully accessible to the city’s canine crew. Snoopy is posted up on the roof in classic fashion, his name above the door, with Kith branding stamped proudly on the side. It’s a pop-up with presence, a proper lead-in to the upcoming Kith x Peanuts collection, which, if the brand’s latest IG tease is any indication, is set to drop soon.

If you’re in Brooklyn, pull up and soak in the vibes—just don’t let Snoopy steal your spot. The Kith x Peanuts pop-up runs through Saturday, March 29, at the address below.

The Orchid For The Plant Killer

LEGO Creator is adding two new sets to its Botanical Collection, unveiling the “Orchid” and “Succulents” models.

The “Orchid” and the “Succulents” sets are comprised of 608 and 771 pieces, respectively, and follow the authentic look of the plants. The orchid build arrives with white petals, pink columns and green stems and rests in a blue LEGO pot, while the succulents are eight different types in black pots.

In January 2021, LEGO creator released the 10280 Flower Bouquet set as part of the larger Botanical Collection, which was comprised of a total of 756 pieces and featured pieces based on real flowers like roses, snapdragons, poppies, asters and daisies.

The LEGO Creator “Orchid” and “Succulents” models are expected to release on May 1 with a $49.99 USD price tag.

V1 Gallery x Keith Haring Children’s Toys

V1 Gallery presents a new set of wooden toys specially designed and produced by the Keith Haring Foundation and French wooden toy makers, Vilac.

Each object is an homage to humanity and are based on original sketches that the prolific artist made in the 1980s. The Stacking Figures Wooden game consists of an array of Haring’s exuberant characters that can be endlessly arranged on top of each other. One of these characters is also blown up into a wooden children’s chair that comes in four different colors.

Additionally, Haring’s iconic Baby sketch is available as a rocking chair, along with a set of 18 wooden magnets. The limited-edition release is available to purchase now via V1 Gallery’s webstore and makes for a great gift for the holiday season.

Gyu Han Lee "The Pattern Is the Pattern" Furniture

Seoul-based artist Gyu Han Lee is known for transforming your average Nike box into not-so-average pieces of furniture, and now the world has another chance to see his pieces up close.

Following on from the artist’s “ON MY SEAT” exhibition at 003archive in Seoul last September, comes his latest work titled “The Pattern Is the Pattern.” This presentation will be showcased at Gallery Document in Seoul, offering pieces such as Nike boxes turned into chairs, benches, coffee tables, shelving units, and much more.

“The Pattern Is the Pattern” offers furniture that looks as if it’s still in its development phase, as the box’s branding appears to give each piece an industrial aesthetic. It’s an exercise in exploring the intersection between something industrialized and something handcrafted because the pieces exhibited are both, further examining form and function, commercialization, and everyday life.

Gyu Han Lee says that the exhibition title is taken from Netflix’s Maniac, adding that it represents “the moment when the fragments of everyday life that seemed meaningless are repeated and constitute a pattern of life.”

Artist Tyrell Winston Turns Trash to Fine Art

Years ago, Tyrrell Winston began scavenging trash around his Brooklyn, NY neighborhood to utilize as materials for his collage artworks and sculptures. Winston is especially privy to using discarded cigarette butts, basketballs, and nets for his latest pieces. Oftentimes, the LA-born creative would walk for miles to collect trash for repurposing — a charitable and meaningful endeavor for the artist who aims to shed light on the stories behind every ditched item he gathers. “The perfect basketball is weathered and worn. The perfect broken net is a rusted metal chainlink net that is totally mangled. The perfect cigarette to me is a Winston cigarette. I’m biased, my last name is Winston,” he said.

“[The cigarette] would have lipstick on it and it wouldn’t be too smashed up. It would still be firm.”

Banksy Artwork Self-Destructs After Being Sold for $1.4 Million

Look, I'm confused as hell right now as to what is going on. Y'all, I never say this but drop some info in the comment section. Let's talk about it.

A rare Banksy artwork, Girl With a Balloon (2006), self-destructed moments after it was sold for a record-setting bid of $1.4 million USD at Sotheby’s in New York City.

Immediately after the sale, the artwork set off an alarm and its canvas slipped through a shredder built inside the faux-gilt frame, essentially “destroying” itself. After videos were taken, staff rushed the piece out of the room. A man dressed in black wearing sunglasses and a hat was then seen scuffling with security guards near the entrance, causing onlookers to wonder if Banksy himself was actually inside the auction room.

“It appears we just got Banksy-ed,” said Alex Branczik, Sotheby’s head of contemporary art, Europe. “We are busy figuring out what this means in an auction context. The shredding is now part of the integral artwork. We have not experienced a situation where a painting has spontaneously shredded, upon achieving a record for the artist,” Branczik said. “You could argue that the work is now more valuable.”

My question is if they get they money back?

Vans Custom Culture was created to inspire and empower high school students to embrace their creativity through art and design and to bring attention to diminishing arts education budgets. Vans believes everyone should be empowered to express themselves creatively and should be given the tools to do so.

Custom Culture is a national high school customization competition using blank Vans shoes to be customized around specific themes. Once your school's designs are completed, they go through a judging process to narrow down our top 50 entries. Then, it's up to your school and classmates to garner votes from the public to help us choose our top 5. One school will be chosen as the Grand Prize Winner, receiving $75,000 for their art program!

You know, I don't have too many things that I plan to do differently this year but one of them happens to be to create more. I should finish what I create, actually. I have so many untouched projects. Maybe it's for the best? I don't know. Some do lead to better things. (Shameless plug). Anyways. At the top of my to-do list, buy more vinyl figures. I didn't buy any in 2017 and I feel dirty.

Red Dead Redemption 2

It's coming.

After teasing the game yesterday and over the weekend, Rockstar has officially announced the next installment of the Red Dead series: Red Dead Redemption 2. The first entry in the acclaimed Western series since 2010′s Redemption, the new Red Dead is being billed on its official website as “an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland. The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.” It remains unknown, however, if the game will follow the events of Redemption or be a prequel of some kind. We should know a bit more when Rockstar drops the game’s first trailer this Thursday, October 20, at 11 a.m. ET.
