Justin Melnick is a digital artist/ photographer whose latest work is featured in an exhibition titled, Arm Me. Having spent some time in the Middle East, Melnick has imagined what war arms would look like if some of the most renowned designers like; Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, and Pucci had input. It was only a few days ago that Crooks released their Men’s 8021 exclusive t-shirts at their flagship store on Melrose in LA. Cheer up ladies, as of Thursday, August 28th, the women’s 8021’s will be releasing at the same location.

For the most part, female streetwear doesn’t create a ton of chatter, but Crooks and Castles has done a commendable job of creating a feminine line without it being too girly. There’s a difference!

A brand that is known to stray from the cookie cutter path has come out with a variety of cut & sew, denim, winter jackets, and of course, tees. Plaid is a big pattern in the collection but there are a few twists like the pinstripe blazer and denim overalls. You be the judge. Check out the line in its entirety on the Bathing Ape website.

In a career spanning almost 20 years, Run DMC has done a remarkable job as pioneers in the hip-hop world as they paved the way towards mainstream popularity. Despite the unfortunate passing death of Jam Master Jay back in 2002 which ultimately led to the retirement of the group, their memory still has a resonating effect as Japanese brand Santastic! teams up with Mitchell & Ness, a brand popular for its throwback concepts. Santastic! is the apparel spin-off of popular Japanese cartoonist Santa Inoue who’s works span the well-known Japanese comic series Tokyo Tribes. Retailing for ¥8,190 JPY (approximately $74 USD), the t-shirt will release August 23rd.

London native, David Saunders, presents the autumn/winter 2008 collection from his label, David David. Fusing together so many different textiles, David David is a perfect example of controlled chaos. Between his womens and mens line, the sportswear inspiration is completely present yet there seems to be a chunk of inspiration coming from elsewhere making the garments rather unique, even when a complete outfit is comprised of the same pattern. The collection is available at select retailers world wide including the famous Dover Street Market.

With the upcoming H&M store opening up in Tokyo, Comme des Garcons designer Rei Kawakubo has been chosen to do a line consisting of women, mens and even kids clothing. Known for their avant garde style, the ready to wear collection from H&M will be a bit more subdued yet keeping the Kawakubo touch. The collaboration sounds like a pleasant way to open up shop in Japan, yet somehow we still wish they could offer these designers for the US market, as it would be the closet we can come to affording Comme des Garcons. Be sure to check out the pictures from the collection after the jump.
