CALVIN KLEIN - MALE SUPERVISORS INSIDE FEMALE CHANGING ROOM - DANIELA RENEE

MALE SUPERVISORS WALKING INTO THE FEMALE CHANGING ROOM WHILE FEMALE SUBORDINATES WERE CHANGING. MY EXPERIENCE WORKING AT THE ( P V H ) Calvin Klein SAMPLE SALE THROUGH PROJOB - IN HOOFDORF NETHERLANDS. None of them even knocked or informed the room that “Males” were coming into the room.

SO: 1. I do not understand why they stayed. Especially, when everyone knew that Female employees where trying out clothes. My second shock came in when not only did they (the supervisors ) actually stay in the room for a couple of minutes to finish their discussion.

 2. I feel in any but specifically a professional environment -The moment when the Male employees saw that the female employees were half naked they should have turned around and left the room immediately. I could not imagine any situation when it would be appropriate for Male colleagues and supervisors to see their female colleagues in their underwear.

3. I do not understand why they did not go outside the changing room. There is a small private space where they could have discussed their matter - Away from their half naked subordinates and were they can still have privacy if what they needed to discuss was a sensitive matter. Even if it was a sensitive matter the offices are just across from the area where it would be most appropriate to have a conversation.

4. It is common and International knowledge that a female changing room is a female only space. This being my first sample sale (and to all the other women who were working the sample sale for the first time) most Importantly never did I consent or was made aware of that male employees were allowed in the female changing room. In an era of the MeToo Movement, seeing this unfold in front of me has triggered me in a way that I have never felt before. I feel every single stride for female equality in the workplace has never reached the doors of PVH. It infuriates me as a believer in absolute consent and someone needing my expressed permission to see my body. I have honestly never in my professional life felt so violated and disgusted. A Corporation like PVH that Handles International “Female Empowering Brands” has male supervisors walking in on a half naked subordinates demonstrates a disparate power dynamic that should never exist in a company. And above all, just as the MeToo movement highlights I knew I could not report this to my direct Manager because 1. I had never in my entire professional life seen male supervisors - or male colleagues not turn on first instant of seeing a half naked Female Employee/subordinate, so I can only assume this is the sad norm. I must reiterate they are superiors. I also feel this behaviour is extremely immoral. Male employees should not be looking at their female colleagues bodies with out their consent. This is a principle of Professionalism and common sense.
