Nike Ruohan Wang Collection

Nike has called in Berlin-based artist Ruohan Wang for expressive renditions of the Blazer Mid ‘77, Air Max 90 and Air Force 1. Each pair is emblazoned with a painterly collage of multi-colored illustrations that enliven the classic silhouettes.

The Blazer Mid ‘77 comes with mismatching tongue tags, etched with bold “Nike” branding and a quirky motif of two legs walking, mirroring the graphics that appear along the heel counters. Contrasting its vivid uppers, the shoe sports a crisp white Swoosh and a midsole that’s been marked with the artist’s signature. The Air Max 90 comes with a bevy of brightly colored panels, like a purple heel counter with a bright yellow rubber patch logo, a light blue Swoosh and toebox, and a light green rubber Air sole unit, while tiny illustrations at the mudguards round off the shoe’s bold design. Lastly, the Air Force 1 boasts the most striking color scheme of all three iterations, leaving no panel on the shoe unmarked. A colorful medley of psychedelic graphics like globes, pink clouds, lightning bolts, flowers and faces are but a few prints that detail the silhouette. All of these features rest over a clean white midsole, lightly accented with green “AIR” branding.

Nike and Ruohan Wang’s Blazer Mid ‘77, Air Max 90 and Air Force 1 will be available on September 24 on Nike’s website, ranging from $100 – $130 USD.
