Nike MX-720-818 "Silver Bullet"

Nike has released a trio of sneakers that are inspired by its archives, with an MX-720-818 referencing the Air Max 97, an Air Max 270 React tapping the Air Max 1, and an Air Max 270 React ENG drawing inspiration from the Air Max 95.

The MX-720-818 appears in the AM97’s iconic “Metallic Silver/Black/White/University Red” colorway, adding its silver tones across a micro-textured fabric and quilt-stitched upper. In addition to this, the sneaker offers a rope lacing system reminiscent of the AM97s, as well as red Swoosh detailing that is drawn straight from its “Silver Bullet” inspiration.

Nike’s Air Max 1 OG-homage-paying pair is the 270 React, which is covered in a “White/Pure Platinum/Black/University Red” colorway. The woven mesh fabric, suede and rubberized overlays take on this iconic color scheme, and combine this with the sneaker’s innovative Nike React foam midsole that provides traction, durability, comfort, support and flexibility in a lightweight unit.

Rounding out the trio is the Air Max 270 React ENG, this time around referencing the Air Max 95 OG “Neon.” It does so with plenty of neon yellow touches all around, spotted in its large Air unit at the rear as well as on the upper. Take a look at all three of Nike’s archive-inspired offerings in the gallery above, and pick up the first two while stocks last via Nike’s website — the 270 React ENG has already sold out online.
